Abstract:
PURPOSE:To enable to switch space heating and cooling operation in response to the temperature of a solution circulated in a double-purpose absorption type refrigerator, by disposing a valve mechanism made of a shape memory alloy in a space-heating solution passage for switching the use of a space-cooling solution and a space-heating solution. CONSTITUTION:A valve body 1 is urged onto a nozzle 2 by a coil 3 made of a form memory alloy. The coil 3 is received in a guide 4. A solution circulated in a refrigerator is introduced from an inlet pipe 6 and discharged from an outlet pipe 7. Further, there is provided a pilot circuit 8 connecting the inlet pipe 6 to the bottom of the guide 4, and a pilot solenoid valve 9 is provided at a proper position of the pilot circuit 8. Such a valve mechanism is disposed in a space-heating solution passage of a double-purpose absorption type refrigerator. In operation of the valve mechanism, the pilot solenoid valve 9 is closed at the time of space-cooling operation and opened at the time of space-heating operation to close the nozzle 2 by the valve body 1 at the time of space-cooling operation and to open the valve body 1 through the contraction of the coil 3 at the time of space-heating operation.
