Title:
VALVE SYSTEM FOR ENGINE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3644279
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To ensure closing a valve by avoiding uneven abrasion of valve seat when the valve is installed, and abnormal input to root of the valve stem portion.
SOLUTION: In a plane perpendicular to a camshaft, the centerline of a valve lifter bore hole 2 is arranged such that it is inclined in a rotational direction of a cam 6 only for the predetermined angle with respect to the centerline of a valve guide 3. Since a contact point of the cam 6 and a shim 5 on a top portion of a valve lifter 4 deviates from the center of the shim 5 as the cam 6 rotates, moment is generated on the valve lifter 4. When the valve is closed, the moment acts on in the opposite direction to the rotational direction of the cam 6, therefore the valve lifter 4 rotates in this direction. However, drag which acts from an inner wall of the inclined valve lifter bore hole 2 restricts the inclination of the valve lifter 4 with respect to the valve guide 3 is mentioned above, and the valve lifter 4 moves along with the valve guide 3. Therefore, a valve portion 9a is placed on a valve seat 10 with its overall face attached.
