Abstract:

PURPOSE: To reduce driving force of a rocker arm when the lift of an intake/ exhaust valve is changed from a high lift to a low lift or from the low lift to the high lift.

CONSTITUTION: A valve system for an internal combustion engine is provided with a first arm 16a which is fit to a cam 18 at a first position, a second arm 16b which is fit to the cam 18 at a second position and being longer than the first arm 16a, and a second rocker arm 16 which is rotatable in relation to the first rocker arm 12 between the first and second positions.
