To provide a valve timing control device having a sealing plate, wherein the numbers of parts and manufacturing man-hours relevant to fitting of a stopper pin, are reduced.
A vane rotor 9 turns relatively to a shoe housing 3 from the most retarded angle position to the most advanced angle position. The stopper pin 70 is stored in a storing hole 71 of the vane rotor 9. The sealing plate 50 is interposed between the shoe housing 3 and a sprocket 1. In the most retarded angle position, the fitting part 70a of the stopper pin 70 is fitted in a recess 60 formed integrally with the sealing plate 50, and then the relative turning of the vane rotor 9 is regulated (a). Hence, a stopper ring 74 becomes unnecessary against a comparison example (b) in which the stopper ring 74 into which the stopper pin 70 is fitted is provided as a separate member. The numbers of parts and manufacturing man-hours are reduced thereby.
