This variable valve train has the rocking cam 6, a curved surface tappet 18 interposed between the rocking cam 6 and a valve 20, and oil feeding mechanisms 22, 23 and 24, and changes a radius of curvature to a negative from a positive and again to the positive from the negative as a sliding surface 6b with the curved surface tappet 18 of the rocking cam 6 goes away from a base circle. The oil feeding mechanisms 22, 23 and 24 supply lubricating oil between the rocking cam 6 and the curved surface tappet 18 in a predetermined period before a PV value between the rocking cam 6 and the curved surface tapped 18 becomes maximum.
