Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vanadium solid salt battery with reduced internal resistance.SOLUTION: A vanadium solid salt battery contains: a negative electrode 7 which contains a first collector 5 containing vanadium ions whose oxidation number varies between bivalent and trivalent or positive ions containing vanadium whose oxidation number varies between bivalent and trivalent by an oxidation-reduction reaction; a positive electrode 4 which contains a second collector 2 containing vanadium ions whose oxidation number varies between pentavalent and tetravalent or vanadium whose oxidation number varies between pentavalent and tetravalent by the oxidation-reduction reaction; and a diaphragm 8 which divides the first collector and the second collector, and can pass hydrogen ions, wherein at least one of the first collector and the second collector contains carbon felt composed of carbon fibers, carbon material powder, and a binder, and the carbon felt is filled with mixture of the carbon material powder and the binder.
