To provide a vane pump preventing drain leaking to the periphery of a shaft, from becoming high in temperature inside a pump by passage resistance to cause the temperature of a discharge fluid to become high.

A vane pump is provided with a body 1; a cam ring 3 provided in the body 1; a rotor 4 rotatably accommodated in the cam ring 3; a plurality of vanes 5 provided in a protrudable state around the rotor 4; a shaft 15 for rotating the rotor 4; and a cover 2 fixed to the side face of the body 1. The shaft 15 is formed of a hollow member, and an end 15a protruded outward from the cover 2 or the body 1, out of the ends of the shaft 15 is sealed with closing members 16, 17. An introducing port for leading drain into the shaft from the outer periphery of the shaft, and a drain port 18 for draining the drain from the inside of the shaft to a drain passage formed in the body 1 are formed at the shaft 15.
