Abstract:

To provide a vapor phase producing method of a coil-like carbon fiber, capable of efficiently obtaining the coil-like carbon fiber and improving the yield.

In this vapor phase producing method of a coil-like carbon fiber, heating in a reaction vessel 12 is carried out by circulating high- temperature hot air gas generated in a gas combustion boiler through circulating piping 24 for hot air circulation to prevent the formation of electromagnetic field from the outside of the reaction vessel 12. A direct electric source 17 is connected through a connecting wire 16 to a substrate 15. Direct current voltage is applied to the substrate 15 by turning on an electric source switch 18 of the direct current electric source 17 to apply direct current voltage to the substrate 15 and form electric field having minus ions. As a result, a reactive species produced by pyrolysis of acetylene can efficiently be induced onto the substrate 15 in an atmosphere in which electromagnetic field is not formed.
