In the variable capacitor, a first variable capacity element and a first capacity element which are series connected, and a second variable capacity element and a second capacity element which are series connected are parallel connected in such a way that the outside of the first variable capacity element is connected to the outside of the second capacity element at a first connection point, and the outside of the second variable capacity element is connected to the outside of the first capacity element at a second connection point. A third capacity element is connected between the first variable capacity element and the first capacity element, and between the second variable capacity element and the second capacity element, and a fourth capacity element is connected between the first connection point and the second connection point. Also, the third capacity element is electrostatically coupled to the fourth capacity element, and the first connection point and the second connection point are connected to terminals.
