Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the deviation of vibration of a variable compression ratio internal combustion engine.SOLUTION: A variable compression ratio internal combustion engine 1 which can change a mechanical compression ratio by relatively moving a cylinder block 3 to an engine height direction LH with respect to a crank case 2 comprises support members 11a, 11b for slidably supporting the cylinder block 3 at both sides A, B of a reference face RP which expands to an engine length direction LL and the engine height direction LH. The support member 11a located at one side A of the reference face RP is immovably held toward the cylinder block 3, and the support member 11b located at the other side B of the reference face RP is movably held toward the cylinder block 3, and energized toward the cylinder block 3 by an energization member. The internal combustion engine 1 further comprises a supercharger 9 for supercharging air to the internal combustion engine 1, and the supercharger 9 is located at one side A of the reference face RP.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
