Abstract:

To miniaturize a hydraulic source, materialize low electric power consumption, and quickly drive a control shaft in a variable compression ratio mechanism for an internal combustion engine.

A hydraulic circuit 8 is provided with an accumulator 18 between a hydraulic pump 15 and a hydraulic control valve 21, and with a controller 23 controlling a hydraulic control valve 21 and a electric motor 22 based on signals from a hydraulic pressure sensor 20 and a position sensor 34. The controller 23 stops operation of the electric motor 22 after pressure of the accumulator 18 exceeds a predetermined value, the hydraulic actuator 11 is driven by pressure of the accumulator 18.
