Abstract:
To provide a variable cycle multiple cylinder engine suppressing a difference in engine output when switching the combustion cycle of a plurality of cylinders.
This variable cycle engine 10 allowing switching between a four-cycle and a six-cycle includes two cylinders 179, 180. An intake system 175 supplying an air-fuel mixture to the cylinders 179, 180 is provided with a throttle valve 176 adjusting the amount of air-fuel mixture supplied. A throttle actuator unit 171 opening/closing a throttle is connected to the throttle valve 176. A throttle control section 172 is provided for controlling the throttle actuator unit so that the difference in output caused by switching between cycles is eliminated.
