Abstract:
PURPOSE: To prevent the occurrence of hub swirl for improving thereby the efficiency of a propeller and reducing radiation noises.
CONSTITUTION: In a variable pitch propeller having a plurality of propeller blades mounted rotatably on a propeller boss 9, a grooved crank pin ring 12 having the same number of notch grooves 15 as that of propeller blades are mounted on the surface of the propeller boss 9 or boss cap 10 behind the propeller blade 8 at an almost equal angle to the pitch angle of the blade root part.
