Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide variable phase difference mechanism having a rotor or a housing having suitable resistance to surface damage while reducing the weight of the mechanism, and a manufacturing method for it.
SOLUTION: The housing 4 has a partition part 25 projected from the peripheral surface 4a concentric with the axis of rotation. The housing 4 is manufactured by conducting plastic working for a shaped material formed as a die cast molding of a die-cast aluminum alloy. In the manufacturing process, the housing 4 is locally heated, and a softened layer is formed on the inside thereof.
