To provide a driving device in a mechanical press having low height with which the rotation of a variable speed motor is not needed to inverse, and the accuracy of a bottom dead center is good even without performing a special control and a torque of the variable speed motor is not needed to proportionally increase according to the increase of the press load.

The variable driving device in the mechanical press is used for a slide-guiding mechanism, and the mechanical press without using a connecting rod, is constituted of driving with the variable speed motor. Since the conventional member corresponding to the connecting rod is unnecessary, the height of the mechanical press can be lowered and also, descending and ascending speeds of a slide can freely be changed.
