Title:
VARIABLE VALVE SYSTEM FOR INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2011256802
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To restrain to a low degree the influence on the engine operation of large change of the valve characteristics of an engine valve at execution of an initialization process.

In the initialization process of making the driving position of an actuator 15 sensed by a position sensor 35 correspond to an actual driving position, the actuator 15 is moved from the Lo end to the Hi end. The initialization process execution conditions include a condition of having the increase amount of an acceleration demand to an engine 1 is the same or more than a determination value a. Since the engine operation fluctuation is larger under a condition that the increase amount of the acceleration demand to the engine 1 is large, even in the case the maximum lift amount and the working angle of an intake valve 9 are largely changed according to the movement of the actuator 15 in the initialization process, the influence of the change on the engine operation is not outstanding. In other words, the influence by the movement of the actuator 15 on the engine operation is made relatively smaller in the initialization process.
