PURPOSE: To prevent mechanical upper and lower limit stoppers from being broken down due to excessive overshoot and undershoot by setting a gain varied according to a predetermined requirement to the calculation of a control amount by a drive output control means.
CONSTITUTION: A required control amount for setting an operating position specified by the axial positions of drive cam 13a, 13b or swing cams 16a, 16b to an aimed position is calculated by a control unit of a drive output control means to control the drive output of an electric drive means consisting of a motor, hydraulic mechanism, electromagnetic clutch, or the like. A gain varied according to a predetermined requirement is set to the calculation of a control amount by the control unit. Thus, overshoot or undershoot on the cam position in the abrupt change of the aimed position can be restrained. Also, useless time when large deviation step response is given to the aimed position can be restrained to improve the controllability.
