Title:
VARIOUS SOLVENT DELIVERY SYSTEM
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3258747
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain various solvent delivery systems for controlling the solvent composition in a supercritical liquid system.
CONSTITUTION: A first pump 20 discharges a first solvent through a first duct 82 to a mixer 26, and a second pump 22 discharges a second solvent through a second duct 102 to the mixer. First and second transducers measure the pressure in the first and second ducts and generate first and second signals which are proportional to the pressure. A controller 12 multiplies each pressure signal by a corresponding programmed 14 concentration signal and compares the multiplied pressure signal with a pressure programmed by a feedback system, to produce an error signal. The controller 12 controls the delivery of each pump, by multiplying the concentration signal from a programmer by the error signal. The pump pressurizes one type of liquid at a time, at the time of start of the operation. The system is employed to produce a flow free from turbulence in the pressurization process or at the time of switching the delivery from one pump to another pump, in a long-term operation.
