To provide a varnish impregnator and a varnish impregnating method in which impregnation rate of varnish can be enhanced while shortening the impregnation time of varnish by preventing adhesion of varnish to the part of a stator core not requiring varnish impregnation.
The varnish impregnator 1 comprises a rotating means 2, a conduction means 4, a varnish dripping means 5, a vacuum tank 6, a vacuum pump 71, and an air blower 72. The varnish impregnator 1 is arranged to perform evacuation in the vacuum tank 6 by the vacuum pump 71 and air supply into the vacuum tank 6 by the air blower 72 alternately. Under conditions of atmospheric pressure, a stator core 91 is rotated by the rotating means 2 and, while conducting a winding coil 92 by the conduction means 4, varnish is dripped onto the winding coil 92 in the stator core 91 by the varnish dripping means 5.
