Title:
VECTOR QUANTIZATION METHOD
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3700310
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform the prediction encoding of a gain and to perform encoding by a small bit number by obtaining the correlation of power and the two pieces of gain information (adaptive code vector gain and probable code vector gain) by the parameter quantization of a voice encoder.
SOLUTION: An inputted optimum gain 11 (the gain of an adaptive sound source and the gain of a probable sound source) is converted to the vector (input) of the element of a ratio and a sum in a parameter conversion part 12. In a target extraction part 13, based on the vector obtained in the parameter conversion part 12, a target vector is obtained by using a decoding vector in the past stored in a decoding vector storage part 14 and a prediction coefficient stored in a prediction coefficient storage part 15. In a distance calculation part 16, by using the prediction coefficient, a distance between the target vector obtained in the target extraction part 13 and the code vector of a vector code book 17 is calculated. A comparison part 18 obtains the vector for minimizing the calculated distance and turns it to the code 19 of the gain.
