Abstract:
To provide a battery management device for a vehicle that executes equalization of in-vehicle secondary batteries in an ignition switch on-state.
In an ignition on-state of a vehicle mounted with a battery pack 1, charging/discharging currents of the battery pack 1 are forcibly reduced by a means, such as, a means that opens a main relay 4 that connects the battery pack 1 to a vehicular electrical system 7. Then, the need for equalization of each unit cell, constituting the battery pack 1, is determined. As a result of this, it is possible to surely confirm the need for equalization of each unit cell with the required accuracy, even when an ignition switch 12 has been turned on for a long time.
