To provide a vehicle body front part structure for further increasing energy absorbing amount by increasing the rearward moving amount of a power unit, by allowing a rear end part of a sub-frame to be positively dropped off when a collision load is applied.
A bent part 9f bent and deformed downward by load F having more than a prescribed value is provided at a longitudinal direction intermediate part of the sub-frame 9 mounted with both front and rear end parts on a lower side of a vehicle body front part skeleton 6. A mounting part of a rear end part 9d and a vehicle body side 8 of the sub-frame 9 is made to have a dropping structure in which the mounting part can be dropped after completing the bending and deformation of the bent part 9f. A connecting member 14 is provided to maintain a connecting state of the rear end part 9d and the vehicle body side 8 of the sub-frame 9 after dropping of the rear end part 9d of the sub-frame 9. As a result, the rear moving amount of the power unit 10 is increased by the dropping of the rear end part 9d of the sub-frame 9, and thereby collapsing stroke of a front side member 4 is gotten and absorbing amount of collision energy can be increased.
