PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To start and end a brake-hold operation appropriately in accordance with the intention of an occupant.SOLUTION: A vehicle control apparatus (14) includes: control means (143) for controlling a brake device (11) so as to start a brake-hold operation in the case of a first condition being established and end the operation in the case of a second condition being established; and setup means (142) for predicting stop time (Ts) on the basis of information related to a light color of a traffic signal (2) that is positioned in a travel route of a vehicle (1), and setting, in the case of the stop time equaling first time, the first and second conditions so that the brake-hold operation is easy to start and difficult to end in comparison with the stop time equaling second time that is shorter than the first time.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
