Abstract:
To appropriately achieve both reduction in energy consumption and charge/discharge control of a battery 50 following an SOC plan.SOLUTION: A vehicle control device controls a hybrid vehicle which includes at least an internal combustion engine, an electric motor, and a battery, and which can travel while selecting one of a plurality of modes corresponding to combinations of operational states of the internal combustion engine and the electric motor. The vehicle control device includes: a mode-by-mode optimum operation point determination unit which determines optimum operation points minimizing an evaluation function for each of the plurality of modes at a plurality of pieces of control timing from present control timing to future control timing, out of repeated control timing; and a mode selection unit which selects one of a plurality of paths obtained by selecting the minimized evaluation function comprehensively and on a time-series basis with respect to the modes, and which selects a mode corresponding to the present control timing in the selected path as the one mode.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
