Abstract:
To provide a vehicle control device capable of appropriately controlling a travel speed when a vehicle negotiates a curve taking into consideration not only lateral acceleration but also longitudinal acceleration when the vehicle negotiates the curve.SOLUTION: A vehicle control device: calculates a curve traveling speed limit so that lateral acceleration of an own vehicle becomes equal to or less than maximum lateral acceleration on the basis of a road configuration and the maximum lateral acceleration; corrects the curve traveling speed limit so that resultant acceleration of the own vehicle when the same negotiates a curve is within a limit range set in accordance with the maximum lateral acceleration, maximum longitudinal acceleration in a forward direction, and maximum longitudinal acceleration in a backward direction; and controls the own vehicle in accordance with the corrected curve traveling speed limit.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
