Abstract:
To change the rate of a rise in deceleration on a required basis when a downshift operation of selecting a gear position on the low speed side by two positions or more is performed during running where running control is performed for running with a vehicular speed controlled.SOLUTION: When a downshift operation of selecting a gear position on the low speed side by two positions or more during a running with cruise control, the number of gear positions to go through is changed when switching to a gear position by two positions or more toward a low speed side in accordance with drive force applicable to the downshift, and therefore a single operation of skip-shift downshift makes it possible to switch gear positions to a lower stage side by two positions or more, or a plurality of operations of downshift make it possible to switch gear positions to a lower stage side by two positions or more. In a plurality of operations of downshift, a rise in deceleration steeper than by a single operation of skip-shift downshift is suppressed. Therefore, it is possible to change the rate of a rise in deceleration on a required basis when a downshift operation is performed to select a gear position on the lower speed side by two positions or more during a running with cruise control.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 11
