Abstract:
To provide a technique which enables a vehicle to arrive at a point where the vehicle can be stopped, in a case where the vehicle cannot be stopped in an original destination.SOLUTION: A vehicle control device 100 which executes automatic driving of a vehicle 10 comprises: an automatic driving control section 210 which controls traveling of the vehicle toward a predetermined initial destination; a peripheral environment information acquisition section 112 which acquires peripheral environment information of the vehicle; a vehicle stop determination section 114 which uses the peripheral environment information to determine whether the vehicle can be stopped in the initial destination; and a destination update section 116 which updates the initial destination. In a case where the vehicle stop determination section determines that the vehicle cannot be stopped in the initial destination, the destination update section uses the peripheral environment information to update the initial destination into an updated destination that is a vehicle stoppable point where the vehicle can be stopped, within an area including the initial destination.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
