To provide a vehicle door control device which can positively close a vehicle door even if the operator erroneously operates an opener switch when the vehicle door should be closed, and to provide a vehicle door control method.
The vehicle door control device is formed of: a door detecting means 13 for detecting an opening/closing state of the vehicle door 20; a door opening actuator 14 for opening the vehicle door 20 upon reception of an operation command by operation of operating members 11, 12; and an actuator control means 10 for inhibiting the door opening actuator 14 from being driven over a predetermined time period irrespective of the operation of the operating members 11, 12 upon detection of closing operation of the vehicle door 20 by the door detecting means 13.
