A PCU 6 computes the two-dimensional risk potential distribution of each recognized object with respect to one's own vehicle 1, sets a risk map of the outside environment, sets a desired route 61 that continues for a set distance D ahead of the one's own vehicle, with the desired route having a predetermined width W equal to or greater than the preset width of the one's own vehicle, and provides drive support control (deceleration control), based on the risk potential distribution on the desired route 61. In this way, the rational drive support that matches the outside environment can be achieved without the control reflecting obstacles or the like that actually do not much affect the one's own vehicle.
