Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To more reliably start an engine and perform evacuation traveling by GD traveling when a second MG (motor generator) is out of oder during EV traveling.SOLUTION: A drive unit for a vehicle includes: an engine; a first MG; a second MG; a rotating shaft connected to the second MG; a planetary gear mechanism for mechanically coupling the engine, the first MG and the rotating shaft; an output shaft connected to driving wheels; a transmission provided between the rotating shaft and the output shaft; and a control device. The control device can switch between EV traveling that uses power of the second MG without using power of the engine and GD traveling that uses the power of the engine without using the power of the second MG. In the case where the second MG is out of oder during the EV traveling, when a clutch of the transmission is in a disengaged state, the control device brings the clutch into an engagement state, and then performs cranking of the engine by using the power of the first MG so as to start the engine. After the engine is started, the control device performs evacuation traveling by the GD traveling.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 7
