Abstract:
To provide a highly reliable vehicle drive device, by early detection of latent failure in three-phase short circuit control of an inverter.SOLUTION: A vehicle drive device 5A includes an inverter 10 for driving a permanent magnet motor M1. The inverter 10 includes a three-phase bridge circuit 40 having multiple switch elements S1-S6, a drive circuit 30 for connection with the three-phase bridge circuit 40, a control circuit 20 for connection with the drive circuit 30, and an abnormality detection part 29 for detecting abnormality of the inverter 10. The drive circuit 30 has a three-phase short circuit 33 for short-circuiting three-phases of the permanent magnet motor M1, an abnormality reception terminal 39 for receiving an abnormal signal s2 outputted from the abnormality detection part 29, and a terminal for check 36 receiving an active check signal s1 for executing three-phase short control by the three-phase short circuit 33.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
