To activate the charging of a battery at the deceleration of speed, and to further improve the fuel economy of an engine, in a control device of a vehicle generator which comprises a generator control means for rasing a power generation voltage of the generator which charges the battery by a prescribed amount at the deceleration of speed.
The control device of the vehicle generator comprises a camera 14 for detecting the status of the front of a vehicle, and a control unit 10 determines whether the status is the one that a driver is predicted to perform deceleration operation on the basis of the detection result of the camera 14. When the status is the one that the driver is predicted to perform the deceleration operation, the power generation voltage of the generator 4 is lowered to a voltage at which the battery 4 is discharged.
