PURPOSE: To provide a vehicle height regulator capable of satisfactorily regulating the vehicle height in traveling on either of bad and good roads.

CONSTITUTION: A vehicle height regulator is provided with a low pass filter 50 interposed between a height sensor and vehicle height regulating mechanism to regulate a time constant, a road surface condition judging means 51 for judging the road surface condition on which a vehicle travels on the basis of a vibration level signal E from an acceleration sensor and a time constant regulating means 52 for regulating the time constant of the low pass filter 50 according to the judging result of the road surface judging means 51. In the traveling on a bad road, the time constant of the low pass filter 50 is set to a large value according to the judgement of the bad road by the road surface condition judging means 51. When the vehicle height is then regulated, a vehicle height control signal D is outputted from the low pass filter 50 by a time lag corresponding to a large time constant. Thus, a follow-up property to the vertical change in a car body is dulled. The vehicle height value is restrained from entering the other vehicle height level range for the small change in the car body and the frequent regulation of the vehicle height is restrained.
