Abstract:
PURPOSE: To prevent the decrease in recognition precision and accurately recognize a travel lane by complementing screen information with information that is offered from outside.
CONSTITUTION: The video signal outputted by a video camera 1 is digitized by an analog/digital converter 12 and read in an image processor 13. A radio wave beacon 14 installed by a road provides, for example, road information on the curvature, tilt angle, etc., of a curve and this road information is read in the image processing part 13 through a receiver 15. On the basis of this road information, the processing range of the image is limited and the travel lane is recognized to make possible speedy and accurate recognition.
