Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow map operation and information search through voice recognition even when an operator calls names of places in error or omission by adding often used incorrect names of places to correct names for recognized words.
SOLUTION: A route guide 6 searches a recommended route to a set destination, displays 5 it and transmits current position data, route data, and the like to a recognized word determining part 7. In the recognized word determining part 7, voice recognized words are determined only for place name information in relation in relation only to a vehicle traveling area predicted from the traveling route and traveling condition of a vehicle and transmitted to a voice recognizing part 4. Voice recognition data for names of places as well as map data are stored in a map database. Names possible to call in error or omission as well as correct names of places are registered as recognized words in a voice feature database 2. In this way, an operator, when incorrectly calling, can do work as intended.
