Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To correct a synchronization shift between radar data and infrared-ray camera data.SOLUTION: A vehicle periphery monitoring device includes: a radar for detecting an object in a periphery of a vehicle; a camera for imaging an image in the periphery of the vehicle; and means for specifying a prescribed area on a correspondence image imaged by the camera, which corresponds to the position of the object detected by the radar, and specifying the object within the prescribed area. The device also includes: means for calculating a phase shift amount between a time change of a movement amount in the specified prescribed area on the correspondence image and a time change of a movement amount of the prescribed object on the image imaged by the camera; and phase correction means for performing a phase correction of an output signal of the radar or camera, so as to allow the phase shift amount to be zero.
