Abstract:
To resolve the problem that a painted surface of a vehicle having a bright color bring about halation to make a shape of the vehicle unrecognizable in the case that a conventional area including a driver's seat is uniformly amplified so that a face of a driver can be discriminated.
In a vehicle photographing method, an area including a number plate out of an image obtained by photographing the front of the vehicle is left as it is in an original image, and an area higher than the area including the number plate is subjected to luminance conversion processing of raising luminance values of pixels having low luminance in the original image, whereby the number plate and the face of the driver are made distinct.
