Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle position measuring device capable of measuring a vehicle position with high precision with error of several cm, even in a tunnel or a place surrounded by buildings where the position measurement by GPS can not be performed.
SOLUTION: This device is provided with a kinematic position measuring device 2, a vehicle speed detecting device 10, and a lateral range finding device 15 having a lateral range finding sensor 16 consisting of a light emitting part 16a and a light receiving part 16b and a lateral range finding processing part 17. In this device, when GPS position measurement can not be performed, the measured value by the vehicle speed detecting device 10 is corrected on the basis of the position information of the sign marker 14 on a road side 13, so that the vehicle position can be measured with high precision.
