To improve a response in a direction of increasing total torque when an acceleration request is given, in a power transmission controller for a vehicle applied to the vehicle including an internal combustion engine and an electric motor as power sources.
An instruction value Tet of E/G side drive torque and an instruction value Tmt of M/G side drive torque are normally calculated to be equal to a steady adaptive value of the E/G side drive torque and a steady adaptive value of the M/G side drive torque obtained from a present value of an accelerator opening, a present value of vehicle speed, and a steady map. When acceleration is requested, on the other hand, the instruction value of the drive torque having a slower response in the increase direction of the E/G side drive torque and the M/G side drive torque is kept constant, and the instruction value of the drive torque having a faster response in the increase direction is increased, so that an instruction value Tst of the total torque (=(E/G side drive torque)+(M/G side drive torque)) is increased. Thereby, a state that the response in the increase direction of the total torque Ts is fast can be stably maintained.
