Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an easily adhering polyester film especially as a film for high density magnetic recording medium while excellent electro-magnetic conversion characteristics are provided, and excellent MAG bond properties, blocking resistance, and chipping resistance are provided.
SOLUTION: An application layer having 100 pts.wt. of water dispersive copolymer polyester resin and 5-50 pts.wt. of colloidal particle of 10-50nm mean particle size is provided to at least one face of a polyester film of 2-11μm thickness. The thickness (nm) of the application layer and the mean particle size (nm) of the colloidal particle thereof satisfy the formula (0.2 ≤ (thickness of the application layer/the mean particle size of colloidal particle) ≤ 2.0 a surface roughness WRa on the application layer side of the polyester film is 0.5 to 10nm, WRz is 5-200nm, thermal balance at 80°C×1hr is 0.3% or under, and both of horizontal and vertical Young's modulus are 500kg/mm2 or over.
