Patent Searching and Data

Title:
ON-VEHICLE SATELLITE RECEIVER
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH09214234
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To allow the on-vehicle satellite receiver to quickly acquire a radio wave from a satellite even when the radio wave from the satellite is interrupted.

A vehicle is provided with satellite reception antennas 10a, 10b. The signal received by the antennas is outputted to signal level detection sections 14a, 14b via converters 12a, 12b, in which a signal level is detected. In the case that both the antennas are tracing a radio wave, a changeover control section 18 throws a changeover switch 20 to an antenna receiving a higher signal level. When one satellite reception antenna is unable to make tracing due to radio wave interruption or the like, a tracking control section 16 drives the antenna not independently for searching but drives the antenna in interlocking with the other antenna making tracing. Thus, disable tracking takes place tentatively due to presence of trees or the like, the receiver acquires again easily the satellite.
