In a vehicle spare tire carrier, when an anti-drop bracket 22 is fixed to a vehicle body panel, an anti-drop hook 25 and a regulating member 29 integrated with each other are rotatably supported on the carrier frame 8, and a mounting hook 13 is engaged with the carrier frame 8, further when the regulating member 29 is pressurized in a hook engagement allowable position by the mounting hook 13 and an engagement part 27 of the anti-drop hook 25 is positioned above a hook receiving part 23 of the anti-drop bracket 22 to detach the mounting hook 13 from the carrier frame 8, the regulating member 29 is rotated to a hook engagement prohibition position by an action of a tension spring 35, and simultaneously, the engagement part 27 of the anti-drop hook 25 is retreated from a position above the hook receiving part 23 of the anti-drop bracket 22.
