Title:
VEHICLE SPEED CONTROLLER
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS5313704
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
The transponder-type automatic speed control for railway locomotives consists of a number of track/transmitter/receiver units (1-6) placed at positions along the track where it is desired to control the speed of various types of train, e.g. slow passenger, goods or express. Each locomotive (G) (P) (IC) is fitted with a transmitter and receiver unit which is inductively coupled to the track transponder as it passes over it. Each track unit has a series of tuned resonant circuits so that it may identify the class of locomotive. It then emits a signal which is coded in terms of the required speed for that section of track for the respective type of train passing through that section. Binary-coded signals maybe used. The locomotive receiver (E) signal is used to operate the automatic speed controller (V).
