To provide a vehicle surrounding visual recognition apparatus capable of correcting luminance of a display video on the basis of a luminance value in an optional region so that a viewer can surely visually recognize the displayed video in the case of displaying the video resulting from imaging the surrounding of a vehicle.
The vehicle surrounding visual recognition apparatus divides the video imaged by an imaging section 12 mounted on a vehicle 11 into a plurality of videos, controls an automatic gain control section 22 and an automatic exposure control section 25 to image an object in a way of being adapted to at least a selected region on the basis of the luminance value in the optional region selected by an operation entry section 15 and displays the image on a display section 13. When the region selected by the operation entry section 15 is changed due to movement of the vehicle 11, a vehicle signal detection section 16 traces and changes the region to correct the luminance.
