Abstract:
PURPOSE:To enhance the safety upon deceleration and braking by forming a swing arm made of fiber reinforced resin in a curved shape which is convex outward in the vehicle-widthwise direction so as to maintain the turning angle of a wheel constant in the toe-in direction. CONSTITUTION:A suspension device S is composed of an arm member 13 in which a swing arm 11 and a lateral link arm 12 are integrally incorporated with each other, the swing arm 11 supporting at its one end a knuckle 23 disposed inside a brake 22 and connected thereto with the lower end part of an oil damper 24. In this arrangement, the swing arm 11 made of fiber reinforced resin is formed in a curved shape which bulges outward in the vehicle-widthwise direction as it extends rearward of the vehicle. With this arrangement, it is possible to maintain constant the turning angle of the wheel in the toe-in direction due to deformation of the swing arm 11 upon deceleration and braking.
