Abstract:
To reduce the risk of traffic flow disturbance at an intersection or contact/collision with other traffic participants during operation of a risk mitigation function.SOLUTION: In a running control device of a vehicle 100 having an automatic operation device with remote monitoring/operation, which has a risk mitigation function (RMF) for stopping the vehicle 100 at a target stop position when it is difficult to continue the remote monitoring/operation, on the basis of location information and map information on the vehicle, in preparation for operating the RMF, target stop position candidates are searched, and when the RMF is operated near an intersection, on the basis of detection information on a pedestrian at the intersection acquired by V2X communications 26, 26R and/or an on-vehicle camera 212, a target stop position candidate where the number of crossover points between the vehicle 100 and the pedestrian at the intersection is the minimum is selected as a target stop position from among a plurality of target stop position candidates including a target stop position candidate located on a route different from an automatic running target route.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
