Abstract:
To provide a vehicular travel control apparatus capable of switching travel modes at an appropriate period.SOLUTION: A vehicular travel control apparatus includes: a driving battery; an internal combustion engine; a generator; a motor; a drive transmission machine for selectively transmitting power of the engine and that of the motor; and a control part for determining and switching travel modes. A series mode is a travel mode to drive a drive wheel with drive force of the motor while generating power with the generator, and a parallel mode is a travel mode to drive the drive wheel with drive force of the engine and that of the drive transmission machine. Further, the control part performs: switching travel modes to the series mode (S160) in a case where a required output (Wr) is larger than a parallel maximum output (Wm) (Yes for S130); switching travel modes to the parallel mode (S150) in a case where the required output is smaller than a given output being smaller than the parallel maximum output (No for S140); and maintaining the travel mode at the series mode (S190) in a case where the required output is the given output or higher and the parallel maximum output or lower (No for S130, and Yes for S140) during setting the travel mode at the series mode.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
