Abstract:
To provide a traveling control method and a traveling control device for a vehicle, which can suppress a load of data processing when performing lane change support control.SOLUTION: A traveling control method includes: calculating a travel route of a vehicle to a destination; performing autonomous control of the vehicle so that the vehicle travels on the travel route by activating autonomous speed control function to autonomously control a travel speed of the vehicle and autonomous steering control function to autonomously control steering of the vehicle; if there is a fork road on the travel route and a lane change is necessary to travel along the travel route, selectively acquiring road information of a road on which the vehicle travels among the branched roads of the fork road, from information stored in a memory medium in the vehicle; and performing autonomous control of the vehicle by activating a lane change support function included in the autonomous steering control function by using the acquired road information.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6B
