PURPOSE: To increase the transmittance of the front windshield, to lower its reflectivity and to improve its see-through property, safety and durability by forming a low- reflection thin film having a specific structure on the front surface of a planar glass body.
CONSTITUTION: The front surface side of an inner glass plate 3 of the on-vehicle windshield is coated with the thin film 5 of a first layer having a middle refractive index and is coated thereon with the thin film of a refractively high refractive 6 index and further thereon with the thin film 6 of a low refractive index in this order. The prescribed region of the low-reflection thin film or the prescribed region where of the first layer thin film 5 of the refractive index higher than the relatively low refractive index of the outermost thin film 6 is exposed is coated with the fresh layer of the thin film, by which combiner glass 10 for a head up display (HUD) to be made copresent with the wavelength selective reflection film in the partial area in the wavelength selective reflection film or nonwavelength selective reflection film. Another layer of the fresh laminated thin films 11 is formed in the prescribed partial area within the region where the first layer of Fig. is exposed and outer glass plate 2 is superposed on the inner glass plate 3 with its film surface side as the exposed surface side, by which the on-vehicle windshield 1 is obtd.
