When activation operation of an automatic seat arrangement device is performed, information of a carrying article is read from IC tag of an occupant existing near entrance doors 7-10 by a reader device 24 toward the vehicle outside. Physical characteristic is determined including that the occupant is a person to be cared or a care unnecessary person while tinged with seat attachment information such as attachment of a child seat. If mismatching is in the read information, reading is repeated until the doors 7-10 are opened largely to some extent and the optimum seat arrangement is set based on the physical characteristic of the occupant determined by the finally read information. If the occupant is the person to be cared, automatic seat arrangement is executed before seating and the fact is informed. If the occupant is the care unnecessary person, the automatic seat arrangement is executed when an operation button 25 is pushed within a predetermined time after seating.
